A technique of bronchography with visciodol: a new contrast medium.
Since the first bronchography was performed by Chevalier Jackson’ in 1918 with the use of bismuth powder insufflated through a bronchoscope, there has been a constant search for more satisfactory bronchographic contrast media. The procedure did not gain widespread acceptance until the epoch making discovery by Sicard and Forestier2 in 1923, that Lipiodol made a satisfactory contrast medium for ...
متن کاملBronchography in pulmonary tuberculosis.
For 30 years after the introduction of broncho-graphy by Sicard and Forestier (1922) iodized oil remained the only contrast medium in general use. During this period a large amount of information was published about the radiographic appearance of the bronchi in most varieties of chronic pulmonary disease. The literature dealing with bronchography in pulmonary tuberculosis is scanty by compariso...

Since 1947 an intensive study of endobronchial tuberculosis in children has been undertaken in the Chest Clinic of the Children’s Medical Service of Bellevue Hospital.1’ An attempt was made to determine by means of bronchography the incidence and types of residual bronchial and pulmonary disease in children previously found to have tuberculous endobronchial lesions on bronchoscopy. During 1955-...
متن کاملMalignant Cerebral Edema following CT Myelogram Using Isovue-M 300 Intrathecal Nonionic Water-Soluble Contrast: A Case Report
Lumbar myelogram utilizing nonionic contrast is a commonly performed procedure to identify spinal pathology. Complication rates are low. Cerebral edema has been shown to occur following intrathecal injection of ionic contrast; however, no current literature has documented this complication relating to the ubiquitously used nonionic contrast medium. We report a case of a patient who developed ma...
متن کاملNanosized Technological Approaches for the Delivery of Poorly Water Soluble Drugs
A major hurdle in pharmaceutical formulation is water insolubility of most of drugs affecting their stability and bioavailability. If the drug is also insoluble in organic medium, it is difficult to deliver it in a sufficiently bioavailable form and hence it is a great challenge to formulation researchers to overcome such difficulty. Although some approaches are available for enhancing th...
